![]() ![]() Each variant adds an extra console slot of the specific type (Tactical, Science, Engineering) and a special console. Featuring the Ta’Sub-class, MoQ-class, and Chontay-class. UPDATE: The Klingon Advanced Dyson Science Destroyer C-Store set has been revealed ( Season 8 Dev Blog #50). Soon there will also be a 3-pack C-Store vessel available that will build on the science destroyer set by adding consoles and probably change bridge officer ranks so looking up a brief review of the reward ship should also give a fair idea of what to expect from that. It involves running a little chase-the-Q or pick-the-present minigame and the entire affair ends February 27, 2014. The Dyson science destroyers are a reward from running the 4th Anniversary Event by collecting Qmendations from Q at Earth Space Dock (Federation), Qo’noS (Klingon), and New Romulus (Romulan). These mechanics include a secondary deflector (adding oomph Science powers) and a transforming capability similar to the Chimera Heavy Destroyer that switches the vessel between a heavy-Science mode and a heavy-Tactical mode. The ships rewarded from putting virtual nose to digital grindstone is an interesting variant of three (one for each faction) that looks like it’s been Teflon-coated with the circularly-etched Dyson sphere material and adds a few game mechanics that are expected to visit STO in 2014. The 4th Anniversary Celebration is well underway and the reward ship from participating in that is the Dyson Science Destroyer representative of the Solanae Dyson sphere hybrid-technologies set and everything that entails. This has led also to a multitude of new virtual items, in-game equipment, and especially new ships. This Star Trek reboot is far from perfect, but it's certainly nowhere near the 'dismal' quality some 'Trekkies' deem it.With the Federation and Klingon Empire discovery of the Solanae Dyson sphere in the Delta quadrant, and subsequent discovery of yet-another-sphere, things have been progressing story-wise very quickly in Star Trek Online. It just takes a little bit to get to that point. With that said, once Leonard Nimoy steps into the film, everything begins to make a bit more sense and the entire film takes a leap forward in quality as well. At other times, events happen that aren't explained well enough and warrant perhaps too much suspension of disbelief. After a highly emotional beginning with a great expanded cameo from Chris Hemsworth (up and comer at the time), I don't think the film ever reaches those gut punching heights, so from that angle, the film doesn't necessarily succeed. Of course, there are quite a few gaps in the storytelling. ![]() In all, the characters still feel like the same old Enterprise characters from the old films and series, just with a fresh spin. But it does also provide us with a more unplugged version of Spock, though obviously still emotionally guarded. ![]() I particularly enjoyed the much more involved Uhura, though I'm not sure she needed to have a romantic relationship with Spock. Though Eric Bana is unrecognizable and quite good as Nero, he's sort of an antagonist doing antagonistic things just so that Kirk and Spock can have something to overcome.Īs it is a reimagining of sorts for the crew, we get to see Spock, Kirk, and even Uhura in places we've never seen them, both physically and emotionally. In this case those people are one, in Spock. Take the villain for example, Nero, he's a vengeful leader of a race who demands payback against those who wronged him. Abrams took a relatively simple and safe approach to revamping the series with Star Trek. Luckily, they all fit right in with the actors who previously played the crew of the Starship Enterprise, while also bringing a fresh new face to the front of the franchise. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Simon Pegg, and the late Anton Yelchin surrounded the film with impressive young talent. Beginning with an entirely new cast of actors playing iconic characters. That's not to say the film doesn't ask its audience to take some leaps of faith, they certainly do. I tend to believe Abrams did right by the franchise's history and pathed the correct way to take the series. Abrams brought us in 2009 should not be considered canon or even a part of the franchise. Plenty Star Trek super fans stand by the notion that the rebooted/re-imagination that J.J. ![]()
